Car Problem - Update

Update…

The mechanic came by finally after delaying till the next day.

Well the person took a look at the car… and removed the manifold to the carburettor and stuck his finger into the carburettor…(he need to get layed!) Then ask me to start the car again. This time it started… well slap me silly and shout out “farts above!”

He mention that the carburettor is faulty… Hai!

Car Problems

Its official…Automatic cars are not compatible with SomeBaL! In my long history of driving (seven years) automatic cars has always given me problems! Here is a round down of cars that I have driven:

Range Rover 98-Automatic – Problem: gear box faulty / engine failure

Range Rover 01-Automatic – Problem: gear box faulty/mechanical faulty/driveshaft faulty/engine failure

Toyota Camry 97-Automatic – Problem: engine faulty

This may seem like a small list but to me this is a huge problem. My driving style is not overboard nether careless nor reckless. On average I drive 80km/h and 100km/h on highways.

So far the only save cars that I have driven with no problems what’s so ever are manual car.

My green speedster (do not wish to state type) 92– Manual – No Problems

Kancil 02– Manual – No Problems

Proton Waja 03 – Manual – No Problems

My driving instructor once told me;

Manual cars is where you control the car, Automatic’s is where the car controls you.
Driving instructor Bernard

I have no idea why auto cars do not go well with me.

Here is the 411: For the past seven month I was with out a car in Miri. The Ranger Rover (RR) did not want to start for some reason… I assumed it was the starter and wiring. So while waiting for the car to be fixed I walk to campus and borrow my friend’s car if I need to get somewhere. Well to cut a long story short, my parents finally towed the RR back home and got it fixed. The week after they came to Miri to collect me and hand over the RR car keys to me and send them back to Brunei. On the trip back to Brunei the battery warning light alighted. I told my dad this and he was wondering why. Just we got home; the air-con died wondering why this happen…got out of the car and heard the cars engine sounding different. Switching of the car and opening the hood and examining the engine, found the timing belt for the alternator broke.

Now since I had to get back to Miri for the Student Council 06 Curtin Sunset Carnival, I had to ask my uncle if I could borrow his car to get me back to Miri and use it for the next 2 week. He was gracious to let me borrow my cousin’s car who was studying in Singapore and currently no one was using the car. Came back to Miri. Four days has pasted and now my uncles car won’t start…Grrrrrr!

Currently waiting for the mechanic to from a workshop in Senadin to come by and see what is wrong with the car… my hunch is the sparkplug that is faulty. I can only hope that is all that is wrong and not anything more.

Car experts out there got any suggestion or explanation why…why autos are not compatible with me?

The frustration of it all!

Yet another brother...

Current mood: somewhere in between almost happy but not...?
Current song listening to: Jack Johnson - Talyor
Current weather: overcast with hints of rain.

Its been a while since I last blog. Had a number of events that has occurred and wanted to blog about it, but didn't have the mood to blog about it.

Now on the other hand, this time around, I just had to blog. As my previous blog "Just a brother (March 17, 2005)". It happened again... Once again, I have become brother...

A new semester has started in Curtin once again, orientation ran as normal (normal to Curtin standard). One of the best way to meet people and make new friends. A Malay terminology would be "chuchi mata", translated, scope out chicks. Don't get me wrong, I help run the orientation is to help the new student get use to Curtins environment... anyway in any case, I met a person of bubbling personality. Someone that I can click with. Her background is some what similar to mine, studied abroad. To simplified it, let me put it in to internet terms...there are many ways of connecting to the internet right... there is dial up, cable, ADSL, and WiFi. With this in mind, connection that we shard (to what I believe, and I she agrees too) is WiFi, no telephone line, not cable, just excellent connectivity where ever we go.

Well to cut a long story, my feeling for her grew...some issues arise and I took the opportunity to show and tell my feelings. Again, cut a story short, she told me that I am like a brother to her... *sigh*

... in a funny way I understand...somewhat...

Brotherhood strikes again...
I am sorry, if this blogging is not making the sense... It something I just have to type it out of my system in such short notice, to more or less lift this burdern that I have put on myself and self-perservation.

I just have to patient.

Notice: In writing this blog, no keypad was harmed.

Why do I do things that I do...

I wonder some time, when I get the chance to, is why do I do so much activates? I know those that knows me, will at one point asks themselves or at one point ask...

"Why does he do so much? Why is he so busy?"

Honestly, I really don't know. I am assuming here that because of my character, I cannot be idle for to long. If that is the case I really hope this does not affect my personal personal life... Ever since I can remember, I have been getting myself involved in numerous activities inside and outside of the studding community. May day: Astrology for SomeBaL...

This is what i have recived in my mail today...

How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
You have a sensible and realistic outlook on life and your two feet are always planted firmly on the ground (though you may, on occasion, have your head in the clouds). Others often see you as a rock of strength, solid, reliable, dependable, and constant. You are, in fact, amazingly consistent for you possess great powers of endurance and do not like to make changes or adjustments in your regular routine. You do things deliberately and methodically and do not easily accommodate the unexpected. Though you have a gentle, even soft, appearance, you are enormously strong-willed and stubborn. You go at your own pace and refuse to be rushed or pushed into anything before you feel sure about it. You can be coaxed and persuaded by charm, beauty, love, or affection - but never forced. You won't fight either, but simply stubbornly resist any attempt to coerce you to do something you do not want to do

The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
You are, in many ways, an eternal child. Your mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful, and always eager for new experiences - and your attention span is often quite brief. You grasp ideas quickly and once your initial curiosity has been satisfied, you want to go on to something else. You crave frequent change, variety, meeting new situations and people.

May day in the rain

Music current listing to: Frank Sinatra - Fly Me to the Moon
Mood: frothy

As I write this blog, I am at the same time trying to concentrate on my assignment that I want to finish by today’s end. Looking at the situation, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Another though that just popped in to my dulled mind is to go for a drive in the current weather (heavy rain and lightning-fantastic). Some people find it this type of weather down, moody or anything that is synonymous with anything feeling down. I on the other hand find this weather pleasing, claming, and soothing effect to me. Driving in the rain is the best therapy that I found for myself no matter what mood I am in. And of late I have been feeling stressed and frazzled.
Think driving in this rain may cure some of my symptom like the feeling of ageing. I am a couple of steps away from being at my mid-life crisis…Some how life has this funny way of reminding how old one is in the most discrete way. God does have a sense of humour, don’t you think?

Rugby R US!

It has been almost a year now since i have last played rugby in Curtin Sarawak, prier to my other life in Canada. This time last year Miri held a 7 aside rugby tournament at the Miri City Council Football Field. We were called the 'Curtin Wonderers', our jersey was the color of Australias rugby team (green and gold). Out of 7 teams that joined in the tournament, we came out at the champions.

This year Curtin has been invited to another 7-aside rugby tournament as the defending champions. Kickoff is at 8am on a Sunday morning. Place is at the Kelab Shell Lutong (KSL). So for those that are in Miri, Sarawak do come down and support us!

Pizza Galore

I am a big fan of Italian foods, you name it I most probably have had tried it at some point of my glutton life! But then again in my dictionary there is no such thing as glutton or the saying ‘gluttony is a sin’… I believe in having your way with food to a certain extent where you do not over eat and end up looking and feel like 5”9’ over stuffed turkey on thanks giving day. *Flash back…. groan! *

Well for those who are like myself, love Italian food, namely pizza here is something to look forward too…

There is a pizzeria that is selling pizza of 150 slices on one pie! Visualize your favourite toppings on a 3 feet by 4.5 feet pizza pie… that’s like the length of my whole leg and the width of my arm. For those that are willing to hand $99 for this HUGE ASS pizza pie, then I recommend this. Additional note if you do plan to purchase this mother of a pizza pie then what the owner recommend is that you should call ahead if you were to order. It takes 15minutes to prepare and roughly around 20 to 25 minutes to bake. Ingredients that goes into making this is roughly 20 pounds (equivalent to 9.1 kg) of dough, 1 gallon of sauce, 15 pounds (equivalent to 6.8 kg) of cheese! *Mouth waters*

Good news for the pizza lovers…
Bad news for those that live at other places other then in McKees Rock, Pittsburgh…*SIGH*

At times, there may be a tendency in this, for becoming over-loaded with such demands, and as a result become resentful.
